demons in songs?

is it really true that people deliver messages backwards in songs which puts curses on people when they listen?

Answer #1

There have been some songs whith intentional backward messages (the Beatles famous Revolution Number Nine, for example), but it’s all just for fun. There’s no such thing as a curse anyway.

I think that whole demon message thing is bulls*it. When a song is played backwards, messages can yes, be put in, but some of these messages were put in because someone didn’t like to see how much other people enjoyed it. I can’t remember exactly who it was, but a religious leader/priest/minister or something like that, made up the “666 , devils shed” thing in that Led Zeppelin song. My guess is that he was jealous because of how much people were enjoying it, and he had to find some way to ruin it.

haha… its a hypothesis that says that people pay attention to information when its told backwards (subconsciencely)

just just like the Jay-z video, “murder, murder, jesus”

and Stairway to Heaven “666, devils shed”

those too are proven that the artist have tried to put subliminal messages purposely.

and others like eminem “stimilate” has a message that announces his hiatus.

but when it comes to curses, it is entirely posible that it could happen. however, that doesnt mean that all music is bad. or the message is bad to begin with

that just creeped me out

It’s something called “paraedoilia” - recognising patterns when they aren’t there. Humans are very finely tuned to recognise patterns - when we lived on the savannah, they helped us recognise when there were leopards in the long grass. Since it’s better to think there’s a leopard there when maybe there isn’t (better safe than sorry!), our pattern-recognition facilities err in favor of false positives.

That served us all very well when we were just climbing down from trees, but not so well in the modern world. As a result, we tend to see patterns in everything - even when all there is to see is random noise. The reason we hear mysterious words in backwards songs is the same reason some people see the virgin mary in a toasted sandwich, or jesus in a dog’s bum (yes, really).
