Beyond your own personal definition of the phrase, can you link me to some examples of corruption
Corruption in government is when public officials use their power for personal gain. This might involve stealing public treasury money. It might involve making deals with certain groups or individuals to enact their agendas in exchange for financial compensation. It might involve putting your relatives or close friends in positions of power solely because of their connections. It might involve using the police or state authorities to suppress your political enemies. It might involve engaging in criminal activity and using your government connections as a shield against criminal prosecution. These are mainly what I would consider corruption in government, although there are more examples, and they happen in almost every government around the world.
