What do you think about the government rejecting research/inventions that can help the planet because it would affect profit from known polluters?

An electric car was invented, but bush banned the proyect because he has oil businesses, i wonder if somebody find the cure for cancer or hiv or if somebody invent something that made the electricity free for everybody in the world. The goverment and the big companies would be against that idea or saying that the guy is crazy and putting a lot of arguments what do you think of that? Tell me please thank you

Sometimes the wrong things just get banned for stupid reasons.

The first thing he should do I think is going to patent office and have it approved. Then make press converence so that people would know what he gets before government banned it.

youll get a patent and then all the multinational corporations will work through legislature and rhetoric to discredit and besmirch your invention because it threatens the status quo of their current exorbitant profit margins… It happened to Nikola Tesla, among many others.

That isn’t exactly what happened. GM killed the EV1 but no doubt the oil friendly Bush administration made it easier. There is an excellent documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car” that looks at the whole mess.
