Do debits cards have interest like a credit card?

I want to activate mine, but I don’t want to be charged anything? Like if I activate it, and don’t use it.

Answer #1

No it shouldnt. You’re just taking money from your account whereas credit cards, your balancei s the money you owe.

Answer #2

It depends on the bank you use. I know chase has a monthly fee if the card hasnt been used that month they charge you a certain amount. They also have several other hidden fees such as checking your balance. There are some banks that offer debit cards with no fees you just have to make sure you ask and read the information they give you before you sign up.

Answer #3

okay, thank you.

Answer #4

Not like a credit card no, generally they only have a fixed bank fee or a percentage of what you bank with them. Ask your bank for student accounts (if you are a student) they generally have lower banking fees. Alternatively search for a bank with no fees.

Answer #5

Debit card directly deduct from your account when you buy something. Since it’s not buy now pay later, you don’t have to pay interest since you have no chance of defaulting.
