Why is death the first thing to come to my mind when I am in complete darkness or don't have music on?

  Because the darkness resembles the color black. Black is a dull color, meaningful and dark. It's the makn color used at funerals & therefore it can give you the death vibe when your in darkness. It could also be that it's become a habit of you to think about it in darkness & so it comes naturally.
