Hang in there while we get back on track
If the fever is not due to a cold, to lower the heat you can take off you clothes, and apply some ice on your fore head. But this can not last long, you need to take paracetamol to prevent the heat for reaching the level until you get shocked.
I always just have my kids run around in a t shirt and shorts when they get a fever :-), or u cud take a tylenol to make the fever go down
take a cold shower or sit in a cold bath, wear less clothes, stay indoors and in the shade, sit next to a fan, eat icypoles, and stay well hydrated by drinking lots of water
I heard a cold bath or shower cud put ur body in shock
not ice cold but cool water, you obviously dont want to jump in a bath full of cold ice!
Ok cuz I was always told no cold baths for a fever, thx for the clarification
Take super cold showers than put ice wrapped in a cloth and put it on your neck.
take a fresh bath this helps you to cool down and the most IMPORTANT thing is “DON’T EAT SWEET THINGS WHEN YOU HAVE FEVER” because it helps the fever bacteria to get them selves Strong !
did you find out what is causing your fever? and how high is it actually? hopefully you have already seen a physician. as an EMT we are taught that in certain circumstances to use cloth wrapped ice packs located in the groin and the armpits to help keep a fever from getting too high on the way to the hospital to help stabilize the patient in the short term, i would assume that the hospital side of it would do the same thing.
first i would worry about the cause, and see a physician if you haven’t already done so - a high fever left to its own devices (especially in young children) is not a good thing most times.
Its either been between 100 to 102. its at 102 right now… so i think its the flu
If your arms and legs are hot, then you could use wet, cold towels and wrap them around your arms/legs. But if the limbs are cold and only the head and torso are hot you should not do that.
Drink a lot of water or tea because you sweat much and may dehydrate otherwise.
Take a cold shower, drink lots of fluids and maybe some icecream to knock down the fever. :)
dont wear shoes or socks, a lot of heat escapes through your feet. lay under a fan. but like dont move a lot. put a cold rag on your forehead. take an ice bath.
