How to deal with a bad math teacher?

My 7th grade math teacher used to be a principle. He is probably THE WORST teacher in the world. He’s not mean AT ALL. But, he doesn’t know how to teach. For example:

Pretend we are going simple algebra ( Evaluating Expressions) He will put notes on the board. But, he tells us “ Writing down all the notes is pointless, so just listen”. If he catches anyone using a pencil while he talks to take notes.. he takes u into the hallway. You would think he would be teaching us how to do the math.. but clearly HE CANT DO IT EITHER! He goes “ Uhhh Uhmm let me check in the back of the book to see if this is right” Then he will get it wrong and try again like 10 more times.. and half of the class had already gotten the answer. Then, he starts to draw random pictures on the board that are sapost to “ help us”.. but they make NO SENSE what so ever. EVEN THE A+ HONOR STUDENTS HATE HIM! And now we have a test on all of this.. and I’m so confused on his “ technique” on how to do it. If we don’t use his so called “ technique” that he so called “ taught” us.. I’m gunna fail! Im going my math homework atm.. and I’m so confused! Why? BECAUSE HE DIDNT TEACH IT TO US..!!

I would suggest you get a extra maths tutor. I have a really bad science teacher who just sits there reading stuff out of a book and makes you listen. We do no work at all. So what I have done is ask a mate to teach me because he is in higher tier

I am guessing a hit man will not work.

Believe me, I’ve been there & I know how frustrating it is to have teachers like this! A group of you could go to the counselor and complain. However, this process can take a while. But that’s one option. Or, consider starting a study group with students who are doing well, even if they aren’t your friends. Sometimes peers can explain things in other ways. You can also think about getting a tutor if you need one .

Try gettin switched classes? Try talking to the school councelor, or the principle and let them know what the teacher is doing to see if he is really making a mistake or not. This way they can take care of him and get you guys some real learning. Also you can try taking extra online clases, or getting a private tutor to help you out with what you have been missing out.
