dating w/o intention to marry?

does anyone think there is a point in dating without intention to marry? I mean, why date at like age 12-16 if you know you’re not going to marry that person? Im not saying that having a girlfriend is wrong, I know you should get to know someone before you marry them and all, but most teen relationships only last an average of about four months. If you know you’re going to break up, why hurt yourself by getting attached and breaking up?

I don’t know, call me old fashioned but I just dont see the point.

can someone please explain? I really dont understand.

I have never been in love so thats why im asking. am I a robot or something?

it’s one long search for the one you will marry. who’s to know you won’t fall in love when you’re young? it just depends on who you meet when you meet them.

I think it’s like practice, you learn new things in a relationship with everyone you date, so that you’ll be perfect when you find the one.

well dating is not simply about marriage, it’s about getting to know people, forming connections with others (few people like being alone) learning how to interact with other people in a romantic setting, and then there’s the physical aspect which people tend to find enjoyable…
