How can I cut down on my kilobyte usage?

My internet plan allows a certain amout of kilobyte usage. It reset itself for the month a couple days ago, but already says that I am over my limit. I haven’t been doing anything differently on the computer so I do not understand why it is saying that I am already over my limit. . .Any ideas to what I could do to cut down?

Answer #1

Move to a browser that supports ad blocking, for a start, I cut down on mine tons. [currently on Chrome and using Adblock] Also I use tons of tabs, also not good if any have video, since some just autostart and that loads the entire video, which may be long. Use as few tabs as you can, a good idea because on top of that some sites push data down to your machine that reads other tabs, passwords, etc. I used to rip our bandwidth the same, and was always over. This is how I did it.

just search for Google Chrome using your current web browser, and download it, adblock is an extension that you can then get from the Chrome Store.
