Criminology Essay Help

This might be a bit of a difficult question, but I have a criminology essay I have to write. Basically I need to select a specific criminal event (I’m doing animal abuse) and then based on that you have to find an article/case study on a specific case. Up to that, I’m fine. But the problem is I need to find offenders’ accounts on what motivates their behaviour. So I actually need to find reasons behind why the criminal did what they did, from them. I’ve been looking everywhere! I found a website called pet-abuse.com which has been really helpful because I found lots of articles but usually the only accounts I can find is the quotes within the article from the offender, but it’s not enough because my essay has to be 2000 words!!

If I don’t get any answers I’ll just come up with/use what I can, but if anybody has any helpful websites that would be great!

Thanks for your advice :) I’ve decided to just kind of gather up scraps from wherever I can. It’s a really hard assignment but it’s our first one so hopefully the lecturers will keep that in mind when marking!

Oh dear, this probably isn’t very helpful, but all I can suggest is googling for words like ‘animal abuse’ plus ‘motivation’.

The great thing about google - as I’m sure you know - is that it can lead you to article in many top-rate scholarly journals.

I use it all the time in my work as an academic editor - but I’m not a criminologist - sorry!
