School Essay Help!

Here is a brief essay-opener/thesis for an essay I am doing on Poe and characterization… what do you think? How can I make it better?

Edgar Allan Poe was no doubt a disturbed man, therefore his characterization of a crazed man feels realistic enough to haunt a reader in their nightmares. Poe finds a niche within a personality and he builds it to an extreme point of insanity where all the reader can bear to think is ‘what will happen next?’. This talent is uncommon, but when it comes along it is always remembered, if not loved.

HAHA I did a report on Edgar Allen Poe, pretty much exactly what your writing about just last year. If I had your talent for opening paragraphs, however, I would have gotten a better grade. I think that your opener sounds perfect.
