Could this be ushers syndrome?

ok recently before school was out I had a “hearing episode”… I lost my hearing for about an hour. it was like all I could hear was mumbleing and parts of words… it was real embarrassing because I told my teacher abt it but I can read lips… so she talked real loud and stood near my desk. all my friends were real worried… that was the second time it had happend. now I am noticeing I have touble hearing and that I am tlking louder… what is this?? my dad took me to the doc’s. I had my hearing checked and everything, blood tests too. and they said that nothing was wrong and it was probably my appendix and stuff. like that is even possible!!! I had my appendix removed because it was screwing me up. but anyway, could I be losing my hearing?? I am really scared I don’t want to because if that happens I know that it might be USHERS syndrom and with that syndrom I can lose my eyesight also!!! Help!!! plse tell me if that might not be it!!! what can be wrong with me!!! the doctors arent telling my family anything!

Most doubtful lil girl.

There are three types of Usher… all of them are inherited.

In the first two types the victim is born deaf and gradually goes blind.

In the third type the victim gradually goes deaf but you lost your hearing and got it back. In Usher’s damage is damage and that means permanent and progressive…not coming and going so while you may indeed have something that needs investigating it is certainly not Ushers…can I promise you?

What you may have is a temporary condition in the ear or the eustation tubes where they become a little congested…just like your nose when you have a cold and then of course they clear themselves.

Kind regards to you - hope it goes away completely.

I myself was having trouble with hearing, every once in a while I could hear a loud “buzzing” noise, or everything would be super loud/super quiet, or I couldn’t hear at all. I went to the ear doctars and it turned out all I needed was “tubes”because the tubes in my ears weren’t connecting properly so they inserted a little tube to make sure everything went threw. hurts like hell, but works:)
