like after they show it to you, would it cost money to take it home ?

If you need the scan because you are going to see a specialist, they will usually burn it onto a disc for free…if you want it for your own reasons, then it depends on the hospital policy.
My orthopedic surgeon gives CDs after MRIs and other scans.
The only medical imaging I’ve had recently was a foot x-ray for a broken toe and I wasn’t interested in that.
