Cookies...burned

Everytime I make cookies they always get burned at the bottom but besides that they taste really good. When can I do to make sure they wont burn the next time?

Answer #1

yep, turn down the temp, but also … use two cookie sheets, in the middle of the oven. That’s what I always used to do. (And please, send me some - preferably chocolate chip…)

Answer #2

turn down the temperature, and bake them longer. that way they will cook all the way through without burning. also make sure that there isn’t much butter in your batter. that could be a problem.

Answer #3

maybemaybenot is correct. Turn down the temperature and bake them for longer…then they will bake evenly right through and won’t get burnt

Answer #4

You can adjust the temp on the oven with a knob. True, you may set it right, but the thermostat for the oven could be off. If it is a newer stove, this problem is likely, because they don’t check this at the factory. It could also be the type of cookie sheet you’re using. Where is the oven rack located? Have you tried it in different places in the oven? Maybe the door gets opened too much and they don’t get a chance to cook as much as fast at the top than at the bottom? Just a few suggestions. Make some cookies and tell me what works.
