How can I convince my boyfriend to eat healthier?

I’ve been best friends with him since kindergarten and we’ve started dating since August and I helped him out of his Kidney infection, I told him to stay away from caffeine related drinks for a while and he has..Now I want to help his eating habits . He likes Chinese food, though I’ve looked into their culture like food, and a high quality of salt is added and well, I want to help him feel much wealthier, and not wanting to force him away from those products, since it’s his fave. So any suggestions or tips to help him eat right and he weighs averagely, and so do I, but he’s my best friend/BF and I don’t want him hurt in a way.

Answer #1

When he turns down chinese food, reward him with booty.

Answer #2

bit sexist don’t you think? :P

Answer #3

sexism (ˈsɛksɪzəm)

— n

discrimination on the basis of sex, esp the oppression of women by men

this does not apply to my comment

Answer #4

Try preparing some good meals that you like and invite him to eat with you. When he realizes how good they are then he might just see the light. Then tell him why you did all that because you care about him.

Answer #5

well it is oppressing. Telling her to use her body as a prize is sexist. I know you were joking and I found it funny but it’s still sexist :D

Answer #6

Thanks…though he’s not one of those guys that takes a fancy. your comment was quite amusing ;3

Answer #7

give him a taste of your kind of food your eating

Answer #8

Anything that consist of let’s say an apple with peanut butter smeared on it, to him it’s yuck. ;c I enjoy many meals, though he’s fairly picky.

Answer #9

Thanks^^ Though he tends to be a picky eater, so I’m helping him to lay off the fast food he gets often.

Answer #10

Maybe you can invite him to your house to cook food together, idk if he or if you cook, but learning together can be fun :) your bf seems to like junk food, but then again who doesnt lol but this guy on youtube makes junk food meals but with healthy alternatives. idk you can check him out if you want :) http://funadvice.com/r/c3hbb1m91

Answer #11

i don’t think it’s a joke he is being serious

Answer #12

no i meant in a joking way.

Answer #13

my question is, how is that sexist? lol.

Answer #14

Why not cook a meal together? Better yet, homemade Chinese food. I’m Chinese and actually when you eat authentic homemade Chinese food, it really is healthy. All that Americanized Chinese food is digusting and filled with sodium and grease, when my mum cooks, it’s all healthy and still delicious. So really, cook some together, it’s fun, delicious and you get to control what to put into it.

Answer #15

Exactly, take-out Chinese food is high sodium and I watch anything that raises your blood pressure, so for his sake, I don’t want him to feel forced to let it go. I have an Asian friend…maybe she can help me make a meal for him X3 since her mom makes vereh good duck and soup^^

Answer #16

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out as soon as I can. Matter of fact I can cook-ish XD I took 3 years in High school(though mainly stuff to learn other than just cooking) but you get the idea. My brother and his GF, love to cook, so I’ll try and see what he thinks. Yes, he’s a junkie eater, though I don’t want to throw him off that habit as much X3
