What are the chances I'm pregnant when the condom broke?

Alright, my boyfriend and I were having sex, him wearing a condom and I have only been taking birth control for a week and 2 days at the time. My period is due to come up soon, in a week or two but my concern is this. I haven’t been taking birth-control for very long, the condom broke but he pulled out when he felt that it was broken. What are the chances of me getting pregnant? O_o;

Hi,

Chances of pregnancy are just as high as if you didn’t take any birth control. It takes a couple of months to work properly, so it’s basically like he ejaculated in you with no protection if the condom broke.

I’d wait and see if I missed my period, then take a test.

Good luck.

Birth control starts working pretty much the same day as you start taking it (or so my doctor tells me) And the first week is the most important because that week is when your actual ovaries stop ovulating. So if what my doctor said to me is correct then you should be safe. But I would advise taking a pregnancy test just incase. Hope this helped x

According to my research there is a 1% chance or less of you being pregnant.

1-Birth control pills are effective 6 days after taking them. 2-The fact that your boyfriend pulled out before cumming lowers the chances of semen being released. 3-If in doubt call the doctor or nurse to find out. 4- Read the packaging that came with your pills.

And remember you have more chances of getting pregnant if you forget to take the pill and the pill doesn’t protect you from STDS or AIDS so be careful!

ariechan, prkswllflwr is right according to what Dr. Drew Pinsky (Dr. Drew on a radio show called LoveLine) says. The thing to do NOW (as in TODAY) is get to a ‘morning after pill’. This is NOT an abortion pill! It simply prevents your ovaries from releasing an egg. It has exactly the same chemicals as some of the birth control pills. It is not 100%, but it is your best bet. I’m not sure about where you live, but in some states it is available without prescription from drug stores, and if not from Planned Parenthood, a local health clinic, or your doctor. PLEASE DO NOT JUST CROSS YOUR FINGERS. Good luck.
