How come most college or university graduates do not have jobs?

or their jobs are not in the specific fields that they studied?

Answer #1

Because most of them study in directions which there are no jobs. That is why before considering a degree you should look at whether there are job opportunities available. Also as an example, employers sometimes hire specialists in fields who also has a wide variety of knowledge, rather than more people with different degrees making up that.

Answer #2

Gross oversimplification but there just aren’t enough jobs.

I have a college degree and 20 years of experience in my field. I know lots of people with my qualifications who can’t find a job so what chance does a young buck have starting out?

Health care is a field that can’t be outsourced so it is probably the safest choice but even here you may have to travel to find a job.

Answer #3

According to the CBI*, the reason that so many UK graduates are unemployed is because they are ……

“ Virtually unemployable, illiterate and innumerate “

I kid you not.

– [ * Confederation of British Industry ]

Answer #4

Given that research shows that on average college grads earn more than high school grads, I have no idea where you’re getting your information from.

Answer #5

All the university graduates I know have excellent jobs, in an area in or related to what they studied. It can be harder if you have a quite general degree which doesnt lead to anything specific, and a lot of the time just a bachelors degree isnt enough anymore. But I dont see how the majority of university graduates do not have jobs.
