How much is college and university in America?

in scotland we just go straight to uni and its free

Answer #1

Omg really? free? From what I heard 30 thousand and up to 80 thousand. In amercia. but I read that a while back.. Gosh I’m moving to Scotland xD

Answer #2

College is SUPER expensive. It’s a full on business.

Answer #3

Tuition per year here for me is 5-6 thousand dollars. That alone isn’t bad, but you have to pay for housing, food, and textbooks among other things, which are what make it add up for me.

Answer #4

depends where you go. if you live on campus it can be close to 30,000 dollars. cuz most schools charge age 200ish a credit hour and one usaly take about 12 a semster. so 24 a year thats about 4800 and then probably another 1000 on books and then living on campus can be another couple thousand.. and these are jsut rough estimates some cost more some cost less. it adds up reallly fast

Answer #5

haha its only scottish people that get it for free… england have to pay

Answer #6

That is actually pretty usual in Europe. Germany also has free public colleges / universities. So do the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy… Students will have to pay for an appartment, food and their own books. You can just live anywhere in or near the universities town. Many students live in shared appartments (where 4 to 8 people just rent a regular appartment together) and have evening jobs to finance their living. So if you do some planning and hard working, you can finish university without accumulating any debts.
