What would look better on a college application: theatre guide or yearbook club?

ok so right now in school im in speech team and Operation Snowball ( which is a club that promotes healthy choices and volunteering). I’m thinking of joining either theatre guide or yearbook club. both sound interesting, but i want to know which would look better on a college application.

Answer #1

I thought it was really easy to get in college, all they seem to want is your money, but I only went to DeVry and then Keller Grad School.

Answer #2

that doesn’t answer my question…

Answer #3

Doesn’t matter. Honestly, as long as you have something on your application that is extracurricular, that’s all that is important. Think of it this way, if it is something you love, you’ll be able to talk about it and discuss what you’ve gotten out of it in your essay. Pick something you love, not something you think they want to see. Believe me, they know by now how to spot the picture perfect application. It’s not what they’re interested in.

Answer #4

^this. If you’re doing something you enjoy, then you’ll work hard at it and gain from it. What they’re looking for in extracurriculars is that you’re willing to work hard at something you love, keep consistent with something, meaning you won’t drop out of college randomly, and they’re looking for someone that takes important lessons away from the things they do. What the heck, just join both. If you end up not liking one, you can always stop, but otherwise, it’s just more to put onto your application if that’s all you really want.
