Cold sores-my worst nightmare

Ok I haven’t gotton cold sores in a long time but their back! I know that chlorine helps them dry up but that’s not exactly available at the moment. I’m going to a family even this weekend I need to know if there is anything I can do to get rid of my cold sores quickly. By the way carmax or abrieva doesn’t work. It just makes it worst!

try taking L-lysine (sometimes just called lysine) it is a natural amino acid that your body may be lacking. I used to get them all the times, zovirax worked well, but slowly stopped working for me. when you feel the tingle of a new one starting, take the lysine in large doses (see the pharmacist first) until the coldsore heals, then continue taking it for a few months at the recommend daily dose. you can use traditional creams at the same time. I have not had a cold sore for over 3 years (I was getting them very often, sometimes monthly for 15 years) if you dont have a coldsore, you can start the lysine at the recommend dose now.

I get coldsores all the time … but usually after I come from the beach… I have a perscription and that has worked better for me than any other product.. if tried Abreva and all those others( they take to long to heal ) your best bet is to go to any pharmacist. The one I use all the time is called Cyclovax and its the best thing I have ever used .. the coldsore is gone in about 3-4. and after using it for the first time you can see a big difference.

Hope this helps: Cold sores often clear up without treatment in 7 to 10 days. Early treatment during the initial tingling or burning stage may stop the blister from forming, or help the cold sore heal faster once it has formed. It’s good to know that there are certain non-prescription and prescription products that can help, including Abreva, Lipactin, Zovirax, Denavir and Valtrex. Your pharmacist or family doctor can advise you on which treatment is best for you: http://www.coldsores.ca/articles/art3.html
