Coffee Addiction question.

I have had 5 cups of coffee today, I’m 13 years old, what side affects could most likely happen?

Answer #1

I drink about 6 cups a day out of habit and I like it. It does nothing for me, I think it’s all in the mind with the hyper thing. It can make you a little jittery though.

Answer #2

Haha I am a fellow coffee addict xD there aren’t any real side effects except maybe extreme hyperness… and don’t listen to what other people say, coffee is goood!!! Lol

Answer #3

not a good addiction though.. you may suffer from insomnia, though.. and might trigger nervous system which is not good.. at your age? no way…

Answer #4

I love the cafiene rush myself but I have had to cut down because me lasses ma is a nurse and shu was telling is about how it can lead to diabetes and that, so yeah its pretty serious drinking that much, I normally just cut down to a cup of coffee in the morning and a relentless during the afternoon if am feeling a little drowsy…you really dont need 5 cups :p haha

Answer #5

umm you can die! hello. thats a lot of caffeine running through your kid body and you can really hurt your self. its not even healthy for adults to drink caffeine. what your doing to yourself is giving your mind and body a sort of high and you will become addicted if you dont hurt yourself first. have fun with that

Answer #6

Some people do get a rush from drinking caffeine.

At age 13 you’ll probably get addicted to it and it can cause sleeplessness, irritability, inability to focus and all other not nice side effects. One-two cup a day should be ok at your age but don’t take so many.

I used to drink that amount and more at your age and I can’t stand too much caffeine at all these days…even from more than 2 cups coffee a day I get nasty headaches and feel tired and dizzy.

So it’s better to cut down on it.

Answer #7

You could eventually get not only mentally but physically addicted to it because of caffeine. My buddy drinks coffee like a fish (6-8 cups a day) and he told me that after less than a year of doing this, he would get headaches, feel irritated and anxious whenever he didn’t get his coffee fix. You’re really young too, too much caffeine is worse for you because you’re still growing…too much caffeine will greatly slow down your growth (height-wise).
