Both in different aspects.

My mom. I grew up afraid of my drunken dad antics so even after he quit it left me scarred and could only feel like I could be myself around my mom.

Thats sad, im sorry you had to grow up like that !

I am proud that he quit while I was still young and him and my mom are still alive and together. But those first 10 years of my life just left a permanent mark. It was just scary but never physically or verbally abusive. Just a lot of yelling and breaking of things and his talk of self harm was too much.

I’m very close to both of my parents, but I’m more open to talk about everything with my mom since I can relate to her more.

My mom because I grew up afraid of my dad as well. He always did dr.ugs and drank alcohol, he still does I just stopped being afraid when I was around 13 lol.

I am definately closer to my step dad than my mom. We are so much more open. I am probably closer to him than my own best friends.

Mom, dad verbally and physically abused me, my borther and my mom (when they were still together) and 6 years ago 2 days ago my father was arrrested for abusing his fiance (I actually liked her A LOT, reminded me of my sweet mother <3) and some child services lady got me and my brother to see our mother permanitly, seeing that my father was not capable of taking care of us anymore and I haven’t seen in him in 5 years and I couldn’t be happier =) <3
