What is a clever way of asking my coach to put me on JV?

(I’m a freshman in high school and I’m cheerleader. I recently made the freshman team and I really wanted to make JV. I had all the skills that are required and my tryout scores where one of the highest for freshman, but my previous Freshman coach put me on her team because she needed a strong cheerleader and tumbler to help the other girls. I really want to be on JV, especially because I’m getting acl reconstruction surgery when competitive season ends. Can anyone help with my issue)?

Tell her that you feel like you want a bigger challenge and that you feel JV is right for you because you meet the requirments. Worse comes to worse, tell her it’s wrong to hold you back and keep you on her team because hey’re weak and need you to lean on, a bit self-righteous sounding, yes, but pretty fair to say, though, right?

^^^ I agree with them… you just need to be totally honest, and tell them you want to be moved up, because it’s the right thing. it isnt fair for them to place the responsibility of that team being succesful onto you, it is their job as a coach to do that…. as long as you feel like you can do good on the team, go for it!
