Classic Fire Question

No one got hurt but three homes are totally burnt and two more are in real bad shape. They are all basically unlivable. My place wasn’t hurt at all, but I had gathered up the above things (and some others, but you asked about my first three) for a speedy retreat in case the fire jumped the street. My REALLY valuable things aren’t here - my kids are on their own and my long time girlfriend has her own place - so it wasn’t panic time. Thanks for asking. Bye for now.

This actually happened to me last Thursday, and the first three things that I went for were: A wooden keepsake box that holds all of my loves letters My external hard drive that has business papers and thousands of photos My jewelry box contents

Thank goodness my house didn’t burn down, but 5 townhouses across the street did. A young kid had been playing with a lighter.

So this wasn’t a mind game question.

If it were things rather than people…Hmm…

My bible, because I would need encouragement afterward.

My purse, because all the most important pictures, financial info, cash, and the kid’s medicines (if and when they have them) are in there, not to mention my journal.

Hmm… for the last probably the diaper bag. Extra sippy cups and Diaper/ wipers. A few toys for the kids, gummy snacks, the thermometer…

I know that’s cheating because both of those bags could practically hold the kitchen sink but If I had only an instant to choose, that’s what it would be.

Umm… I would save my mobile, my camera, and my library card… Which sounds pretty selfish, but everything else is insured. Britz
