Choosing classes for college dillema

My boyfriend left early for a family trip so he missed his orientation and therefore, he didn’t get to pick his classes when he could’ve..and should’ve. Well its three weeks later and all the good classes have waiting lists. Im helping him choose classes… Can you tell me if this is an overload… Its our first yr at college.

M/w 9:15-10:20->guidance(it helps students find out what they want to do for their career and stuff) one unit. 10:45-12:10->sociology three units 12:15-1:40->weight lifting. One unit 1:45-2:55->algebra five units

T/th 9:15-10:40->developmental psychology three units He might not have english because theres a waiting list, but if he gets in..it’ll be here

1:45-2:55->algebra five units.

Im just worried that he’s over packed. He has two one unit classes though.. But uggh I wish he coulda done this earlier when the classes he was originally plannen on takin were available…

Please give me advice!!!

sillygirl… the algebra is written down twice… he’s only taking 13 credits… which isnt bad at all…

Answer #3

lol, nah, I read it like 3 times to figure out why there were so many credits before I fig out it was repeated:)

Answer #4

No I dont think so. Seems like a reasonable schedule…

Answer #5

ha ha ha…blonde moment :)

I still would almost drop either the psych or soc and add like an english class, but that’s just me.

Answer #6

a few problems with the schdule:

-first, you have him taking 18 credits (or units…I’m guess ing they are the same thing). since you are in your first semester, I would advise against this. take 12-15 at the most. (assuming that for you 12 is full time). 18 is quite a full load…not much time for work or social life. remember, for ever hour of class, you’ll have 2 hours of homwork. so that’s quite a bit of work you have there.

-second, you have him taking pyshcology and socialogy the same semester. now, this is totally ok and can be done, but the two classes are pretty similar; I would be worried about confusing the two and getting poor grades because of it.

just some thoughts :)
