How would a child describe guilt?

Answer #1

Probably as “feeling bad”. That’s how I always saw it.

Answer #2

Feel sorry?

Answer #3

It depends on how the child was taught about guilt. Sometimes they feel bad, or sad, or they were bad, or they did something bad, they made someone angry, feel scared, it depends… guilt is a difficult one. Especially to piece apart from shame. Kids often get confused, thinking that they are bad, instead of what they have done is bad.

Answer #4

feeling bad.like an oops mistake.but in the adult way it’s feeling remorse or guilt as you said.
