Yes it is true. If you become really old, such as 50s or 60s and you become in contact with them from another person you get the shingles. And you can die but your not 16 yet. you can still get them and me ok =] my grandad who is in his 50s has never had them and he is fine. =]

LOL “really old” “50s or 60s” :) “Where’s my ear trumpet, sonny”

Seriously chicken pox is rarely fatal. In older adults it IS more severe and can turn into the painful condition known as shingles.. If you had chickenpox as a child the virus can re-emerge (it never actually left your body). And that is also shingles. Generally shingles lasts from 2-6 weeks, and is very painful, but it finally goes away. Usually.

Again, it is rarely fatal.

Good Luck!!

At your age, you should have had the vaccine for it. Most kids do these days, AND most schools require you to have gotten the vaccine.

:) Growing up, the chicken pox vaccine didn’t exist so I had it at sixteen, had a high fever for nearly two weeks, got scared up tons (I have more scars from that two weeks than anything else in my life…) and I lost ~20 pounds I was so weak I could hardly walk when I started to get better, because I hardly ate while I was sick.

don’t be ignorant - ask your parents if you have (or have not) had the vaccine, and if you HAVEN’T, get it.
