Cavalier king charles not herself - just lying around

My king charles (9 months) is just not herself. usually delighted to see us in the mornings but today doesnt want to get out of her bed or go outside to the toilet even growling at the children when they go near her. this is really not like her never did it before - she is eating

Answer #1

I think that anytime a dogs behavior changes in any way, then it’s time to have her checked out by a vet. Eating is a good sign, but she may have an underlying condition that you are not aware of, that needs to be addressed that may be causing her to act this way. I would take her to the vet and just have them take a look. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!

cheers guys - appreciate the feedback I think a visit to the vet is in order if she doesnt perk up soon

Answer #3

She may have ate something that is not agreeing with her stomach.. she may have severe pain in her leg, hip, back due to injury or possible genetic defect like legge perthes disease ..which I think pain from some cause may be the more likely senario or she may have some other health problem…dogs tend to have far higher pain tolerances than humans..so when the dog show signs of problems ..I take them very seriously and if I don’t know what is wrong ..then I get the dog into the vet right away for a diagnosis

Answer #4

Well, the fact that she’s eating is a GOOD sign…If her poops are normal, and she’s peeing regular…She may just be having an “off” day…dogs do have them. If she’ll let you take her temp, do it…should run right around 101 to 102.5 to be “normal”…

If she doesn’t perk up in a couple of days, maybe run her in to the Vet to look her over…I know how you feel, tho…anytime they are just a little off, we worry.
