what might be causing my kitten to be the way he is?

:( kai,i got 2 kittens from the shelter about a week ago. I heart them to death<3 I named them Light and Misa,like from the show Death Note hehe… Anyway,Light (the boy) has been seeming like he wants to throw up. But everytime he starts to gag and i put a paper towel under him,he stops. He’s been like this for 2 days and nothing has come out. He’s about 6 or 7 weeks old and perfectly heathy. I feed him purina kitten food and i have been giving him and Misa kitten milk that i bought at the store. –So is it just a hair ball or what?

Try weaning the cats from the milk for a week see what happens .

He’s not old enough to have a hairball….(hasn’t licked enough hair himself yet)…I’d take him to the Vet, it might be something genetic… a problem with his esophagus, or throat…teeth….get him checked out.
