What makes Catholicism and Protestantism different?

Answer #1

Catholics are Absolutist Christians, they follow the Bible to the exact letter because it IS the word of God. Protestants are Relativist Christians, they believe situations should be sorted by doing the LESSER OF TWO EVILS, the kindest thing.

Or as my RE teacher put it:

“Is abort!on/homosexuality/contraception/ right?”

Catholics - “No! ‘Thou shalt not kill’ and ‘A man shalt not lie with a man as he would a woman’.” Protestants “…if it’s the kindest thing to do. If the mother cannot have the child due to medial issues or other issues such as being under-age, if allowing homosexual/contraception is the kindest thing to do, etc”
