How can i make my cat more affectionate?

I love my cat but i went to my friends house and her cats are WAYY more affectionate that mine is!! How can i make him more lovable and playful? Also he’s not old at all he’s just two years old.

Answer #1

You really can’t. Some cats like to cuddle (commonly called “lap-cats”) and some just don’t. Cats are very independent, unlike most dogs, and prefer to do their own thing a lot of the time. If you want a cuddly thing, I suggest a dog, or perhaps a teddy bear.

Answer #2

U can’t make a cat more friendly, if they were a kitten u usually start from their by holding and petting them very often, that will make them more affectionate

Answer #4

If you want an animal that laps his tongue all over your face and is constantly needing affection get a dog. I prefer cats, because I dont need constant affirmation of my animals love and adoration. I am not that needy.

Answer #5

Answer #6

Answer #7

Answer #8

Treat him/her very nice pet them alot and rub their belly! Try to go the extra mile to be nice to them and they will start being VERY affectionate , I have a black cat and all she does is nudge lick me and follow me around my house.. when I go to bed she sleeps on the top of my pillow and guards the outside of my door! Sometimes a cat’s personality is not what you want it to be! You can still try and improve it though! Hope that helped (:

Answer #9

No. I’m just cranky. I dont know if you are needy. Are you? You can try n rub cat nip all over your face, or maybe wear a stuffed parakeet around your neck or something.

Answer #10

You cant. Cats have their personalities just like all other mammals. You want a cat that’s more affectionate, get another cat. It took several years before my cat would even sit next to me. Now she will occasionally sit on my lap. You can’t force it. It may never happen. Or it could take time. You kinda have to expect that with a cat.

Answer #11

well i’m not. All over your face????

Answer #12

Ya, your face! Then he could lick it off with his little dry scratchy cat tongue. :)
