Careers in medical field_

I wanted 2 know what were the yearly salaries for a [certified nursing assistant, medical assist, emt, patient care tech, and a nurse]

Answer #1

EMT: It depends on what type of EMT. If you work at a Private Ambulance Service, the wages are low, always have been. In 1979 an EMT made $3.40 an hour, now they still make $8.00 - $14.00. If you get on a Full Time Paid Fire Department, it would vary, but usually is $30,000 + range, depending on where, your Firefighter Certification, etc. Yes you can make more, but as a EMT, it would still be dependent upon your Rank and Fire Certifications. EMT/Security positions also don’t pay much, like casinos, factories. EMT (Basic), is a plus to a Firefighter, Security Guard. It is a foundation to becoming a Paramedic, Nurse, etc. By itself, unless you want to Volunteer, it is not a career by itself, at least not a good paying one.

Answer #2

For a patient care technologist/technician, it normally starts around $50 - $60K in Canada for the private sector. Might be a bit higher if you were employed by a hospital. Patient care technologists/technicians make much more in the U.S.
