What should I do about my career choice?

I really want to teach Kindergarten but I’ve always been told that there will always be jobs in healthcare. There aren’t very many teaching jobs in my area so I was going to school to be a Neonatal Nurse. Then I switched to get my MOA Certificate and now I’m thinking about Pharmacy Technician. But I don’t really want to work in the medical field. Should I go for a guaranteed job that I might hate, or do I go for the job that I’m sure to love but will have a hard time finding?

Answer #1

I think you should follow your heart. The health care industry is booming because many people see it as a job with alot of openings. So it will fill up soon… Remember that you only get one life, don’t waste it being unhappy… Take your chances and do what you like.

There will always be work for teachers. Even the most idiotic people someday realize that education is a necessity. It seems the other two have already gotten you back on track, but anyone that wants to be a teacher is already a special kind of person.

Take it from soemone who did that you’re trying tnot to do :) My passion has always been cosmetology but in my parents’ eyes that it not a true career, so i took up Forensic Psychology. After a few years of taking courses i couldn’t be happier with ym career choice. At times it is better to go for something that you love, but other times a career move opens new areas and who knows you just might find something better than what you wanted.. Maybe it’s just not healthcare, it might be something else! I say take a few classes as extra classes for different fields that you might be interested in, you never know how much you’ll end up liking a course until you take it.

You go with the job you want to go with. Remember that this is what you might end up doing for a fair amount of your life, so spend it doing it with something that you want. Yes, money is important, but you don’t want to wake up everyday and groan and moan about how you have to go to a job you hate. You want to wake up and smile because you have to go to work. Earn your money with happiness.
