You can get textbooks online for half the cost (or often less). Other than that, you’re going to have to go to a library or borrow the book from a friend if you can’t buy them.

For future reference, keep in mind the cost of textbooks before you sign up for classes, so you can work/save appropriately and not get caught off guard.

go to the library or ask a friend to lend you the textbooks you need and photocopy the chapters you need, you dont have to copy the whole book in one go, just the chapters you are currently on

in my university, they allow us to photocopy books as long as we use it for ourselves and not sell the photocopies

Ok so I was in the same position at one point.

What course are you doing? At you local institue of whatever (place of study) you could search for adverts of needed tectbooks or place up adverts saying textbook of such and such needed.

I managed due to a friend and me often working together on assignments weshould not have been working together on. I dropped out of the course anyway lol! But seriously, in NZ if you are a student, you are able to get either a FREE $150 per week or LOAN $150 per week while you are a student (except holidays) Try getting a job (You probably heard this countless times already). If you have a job on Non-school nights you should be fine in most cases.

Tell your specific tutor aboutyour situation and that you are looking for a job (bullshit the amount you have been looking for a job and textbooknsdverts for as this will give positive impression).

I must admit, in most students cases insomething like this, a job generally gets them out of it. Just try a fast food place, a supermarket (try trolleys if you can, it’s easy as piss) or a petrol station.

CHEAPTEXTBOOKS.COM

  • Place an add stating that you are in need

  • ANd I dont know about elsewhere, but here in Illinois Financial Aid will cover your text books and I would look into that as well. If it weren’t for financial aid - I would not have been able to get my textbooks as I also had rent, utilities, etc.
