Can someone help me with medical advice?

Hi. About half an hour ago, I was outside with my cats (I know late, but I don’t like sleeping when they’re not in) and the youngest, Carrie was fighting with this really big nasty cat down the road that bullies Carrie and her sister a lot. I tried to seperate them because he was really laying into her - bit all round her eye and scratched her nose - and he went for me too. Any advice on how to treat a cat scratch that’s pretty deep?? xx

Who owns the nasty cat? does he have a owner…if not you may be at risk for rabies believe it or not… keep an eye on your cats…I don’t let mine go outside for that reason…fleas ..etc… hope things go ok… maybe some hydrogenperoxide…not in the eye of course…call the vet to be sure…

erm you should phone up the cats protection league or something about the stray cat and get it treated and re-homed as it may be angry because of its past life or because its in pain, my cat gets picked on in my grove too by a big ginger cat but all you can do is try and keep your cat in until he/she heals aww hope he/she gets beta :(

Thanks, I’ll do that. She’s meowing her head off, with blood all just above her eye poor thing…I’m worried about infection..

He’s a stray that happens to hang around the neighbourhood, has it in for other cats. He’s got one eye, and seems to have a bit of a habit for going round trying to claw other cat’s eyes out a lot of them get hurt near their eyes, and he’s vicious around humans too.

I’m glad my dog helped - she chased him into the road, nearly got him run over actually. I think he’s a danger because there’s loads of young children on my road and I’ve seen him prowling round in the day. You know how kids are - they’ll rush in and pull a cat’s tail or something…

I’m sorry that happened to your poor cat! I would just clean it very well with some rubbing alcohol to kill off any bacteria that may have entered. Let her sleep on it for the night and continue to clean it with rubbing alcohol about 3 times a day until the scratch is gone. If you notice any infection (pus, bad smell, buldging and red) then you should go see the vet. They will most likely just give her a shot to clear the infection fast and give you topical antibiotics as well…however Im sure if you keep it clean that won’t be a problem. Good luck!
