Can I repair my laptop myself?

My laptop has got a drive problem.I am not in a position to get expert help.I have opened desktops before and changed drives. Is it similar to laptops?Just smaller ones? Or should I try other options?

In general, it’s possible to replace a laptop hard drive your self, but some laptaps require special tools to open them properly. If it’s an older laptop, I might try it myself and just accept the risk of breaking it.

If it’s fairly new but out of warranty, I think I’d pay to have it done.

I really wouldn’t try fixing it myself. You don’t want to screw it up more, I’d just pay the cash to get it fixed… Better safe than sorry.
