Burning calories while sleeping

If I sleep 13 hrs how many calories do I burn?

Answer #1

Ideally you should go to bed between 9-10 pm and wake up in the morning about 7 - 8am although that is too long in some people’s eyes.

I have a health problem with sleep where I will go to sleep and won’t wake up for 2/3 days on end. But I have to otherwise I go into shock. I can’t remember what it is called but it is the complete opposite of insomina which is what my fella has (where you cannot sleep and are very wide awake and hyper like actions).

Since I have had this condition my weight has plummeted and I am very lethargic and ill. It has caused me to leave my studies and I am now motivating myself to get a job so I can wake up. I am also deaf which makes waking up harder but I have very violent vibrating alarm clocks which hurt my head, but it wakes me up.

Now… you don’t want to be like this do you…

Not very many - you shouldn’t sleep for 13 hours anyways. The best length of time for sleep should be between 6 - 8 hours, this keeps you fresh in the morning and less lethargic. Too much sleep can make you ill.

You burn more while you are awake. Standing, talking, playing games, sitting burns more than sleeping
