How come my built in HP speakers aren't working?

I have the volume up all the way and I made sure the cables we’re plugged in all the way, and they still don’t work?

Answer #1

Check the volume settings on your computer, something may not be in the right adjustment. Or you could have plugged the cables in the wrong way and idn’t notice, check both out.

Answer #2

*didn’t

Answer #3

Like one person suggested, check your volume or if you have your cables plugged in the wrong way, you should unplug those and see what happens. If you need asistance by turning the volume up or down, go to your control pannel, and go to where it says hardware and sounds and find playback tab, and it will say, select a playback sound or something to that matter and you will see an icon for speakers. When you select speakers, go to properties, and go to levels tab and there you should find the level of your speakers. If you don’t get sound, try going to sounds. I’m not sure if you have a built in microphone either but if you do, check that as well. I wish you luck and I hope this helps.

Answer #4

ok youve checked the volume but have you checked the individual volumes for each speaker?

go: start - control panal - sound - ( highlight your default device) properties - levels - (then under ‘Play Control’) click ‘Balance’

you should end up where i am in the pic… just make sure your levels are up here. for some reason mine love to alter themselves to 0 sometimes even though my windows sound bar still states their at 91%
