Budgies tamed

Please advice me. I have four budgies. When I put my hand in a cage for their food and water they all run away from me. Please advice what to do??

well I have a lot of expirences with birds (finches) and mine USED do the same. What you have to do (especially if they breed) to the babies (like I said if they breed) get them from a small age when they fall out of the nest, but not to early. (or the mother won’t feed them) Develop a trust with the baby such as holding it, feeding it, and getting the bird to trust you. By the time they are older they will trust you and hopefully call your arm a perch! But if they are an adult it is much much harder! You put your arm in the cage everyday, don’t do anything. They will eventually find out that you are not bad and will start to trust you. But it is common that when you put your hand in so fast that they get spooked. So when you go to feed them make sure it’s slow in and slow out. But if you want them to like come onto your hand that takes a lot more. I hope this helps a bit !
