What to bring to a babysitting job?

Okay, so I’m fourteen and I haven’t babysat before besides my brothers and sisters who are twelve, nine, seven, and two. I do work the nursery/ childrens ministry at church with my cousin who is two months younger than I am. I was asked to babysit a four year old and a six year old at the parents house because they are having dinner for their anniversary and then going to see a concert, which might last until very late.

I know the kids and the parents from church and I get along with the two girls quite well, but I’m still nervous. I was just wondering, what to bring and what questions to ask the parents. I know allergies, bedtimes, emergency numbers but what else should I ask? Also would you let me babysit your own children? Just wondering:)

Answer #1

What to bring for yourself? or the kids? and most people don’t bring anything with them for the children cause your going to their house and they have everything there. Some people do just to get more involved, like arts and crafts stuff or like easy bake oven to make treats with them. But since they live there they have all their toys, coloring, games ect.. so I don’t see what you would need to bring. For yourself I can see bringing a book or magazine to read for when they go to bed. Then again you have a t.v there to watch also. Maybe a Ipod to listen to music..

Answer #2

just bring yourself and everything will be fine.
