Breast cancer walks

I don’t know about “Breast Cancer Walks”, but “Avon Walk for Breast Cancer” is a two day, 39-mile opportunity to influence the lives of millions affected by breast cancer worldwide, whether by walking or volunteering.

In Los Angeles, walking participants walk up to 26.2 miles on Saturday, 13 September 2008 and up to 13.1 miles on Sunday, 14 September 2008 all so that medically-underserved women and men can get the medical care they need and leading research teams can be supported in their ongoing search for a cure.

For people who don’t live in California but would still like to participate, the aforementioned website has information on the following places: Houston, Washington, D.C., Boston, Chicago, Rocky Mountains, San Francisco, New York, and Charlotte.
