Does it hurt getting braces?

I am getting braces this december and I was wanting to know does it hurt

Okayy. So, I got my braces a month ago. They start out by putting spacers in. That hurt like crazy. -- I could only eat soup and such. <.< Then they put in the braces. It doesn’t hurt for the first bit–that’s when you go ahead and take the painkillers. Because if you don’t… You’ll regret it afterwards. -- Like, no joke. I wanted to just rip my braces out. Tol. So yeah. Painkillers and SLEEP help. x] Also, when they get tightened, it’s like the same thing over again. So, be CAUTIOUS and go ahead and take a painkiller.

braces hurt if you dont take pain killers. Its not a sharp pain but like your head is filled with molten lava. So take your painkillers and youll be good

if you get spacers first(things they put in your teeth) those hurt me so bad, I couldnt even chew for a week. But for me braces never hurt except the day, or sometimes few days after they get changed/tightened, and it did hurt a bit a few hours after I got mine on, but just by some painkillers and youll be straight.

u better by tylenal it hurts like crap after awhile cus I got mine on in themorning it started hurting later rite before I went to bed take it as soon as you get em on that way it doesnt hurt at all

I just got mine today. no, getting them on doesn’t hurt. but my friends that have them say that after a few days they start to hurt.

When they put them on It doesn’t hurt but after it does for a few days and then it goes away until they tighten them again.

Yeaaa they hurt for maybe about 3-4 days but after that they don’t hurt at all :)
