Is having braces at 21 lame looking or anything?

My teeth are pretty straight. But not perfectly straight I have a few crooked ones. Anyway. I was wanting to try to fix them. But I’m 21 now, so I thought it might look dumb. Lol. Then I was thinking about invisiline or whatever and was wondering if that works?

Answer #1

UR so lucky, i love braces. i wanted braces since i was in 6th grade.

Answer #2

Well me too. Just could never afford them. And they always said my teeth aren’t that bad. But now that I can sorta afford them better I’m afraid to get them because I’m 21 yrs old. Lol. My teeth really aren’t bad. But I would just like them to be more even. Lol.

Answer #3

No. Lots of adults are having orthodontics these days. I know a man who got himself braces as a 50th birthday present!

If you’re concerned about appearance though, you should check out a method called “Invisaline” It’s a series of clear removable mouth pieces which gradually move your teeth. Some people also have the braces put on the lingual or tongue side of their teeth, so they can’t be seen when they talk or smile.

Answer #4

lol my cousin is 27 and has braces:) most times she gets compliments-_- i wonder if theirs fake braces? i want some

Answer #5

how is she lucky having braces at 21? most people get braces in like 6th grade. thats horrible!!

Answer #6

It’s best done at that age though, because the bone around the teeth is softer, and the teeth move more easily.

Answer #7

Yeah I was wanting to try in ivisaline but wasn’t sure if it worked. And I didn’t know a out putting the braces on the tongue side if the teeth. Weird.

Answer #8

thats still horrible tho! having braces at 21…. ouch.

Answer #9

thats still horrible tho! having braces at 21…. ouch.

Answer #10

I do t have braces. Lol. I’m looking into it. And wanted to find something that’s less ‘childish’ looking for my age. Lol.

Answer #11

*don’t.

Answer #12

I worked in a dental office for many years, and have seen the results from Invisaline. They work beautifully. Not everyone is a candidate for them, though. It depends on what’s causing the misalignment of teeth.

Answer #13

Sorry…misread your post…bone is softer in sixth grade!

Answer #14

what’s the cheapest of the 3 options?

Answer #15

Nah, I don’t think it looks lame at all. I’m 23, and if I needed braces, I’d totally get them. I don’t care much anymore about what others think. xD If they don’t like it, they don’t need to be looking. And if they’re judging me, they’re not really worth my time (or your time) anyways.

Answer #16

Not really. I have a friend,she’s 24 an still has braces :)

Answer #17

I’m not sure anymore. It used to be the traditional braces. Invisaline may have come down in price by now. It’s been around for awhile. The lingual braces are probably still the most expensive. They’re more difficult to do, and not many Orthodontists do them.

Answer #18

I’m sure no one will pay much attention to it. I actually had a professor that had braces and he was in his 70s!

Answer #19

Of course not! I know grownups who have braces. I think it’s quite cute and I also think it makes you look younger.

Answer #20

Whoa! That’s crazy. Lol.

Answer #21

Well I dont want to look too much younger. People say I look like I’m in my teens. Sometimes I get 16 ugh. And I hate that. Especially now that I’m expecting a baby. Lol. But what can I say. May e it’ll pay off one day. Haha.

Answer #22

IKR! My initial thought was whats the point? You’ve already gone the majority of your life with crooked teeth…..My friend told me I was mean. lol
