Is there a book that has a Mother die while giving birth or at least during the child's early life?

I prefer it be a book that people would reconize and it would be even better if the mother’s death had a role of some kind in the book’s plot.

Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah Chinese Cinderella is an autobiography. It is a story written by a the author in her fifties about her own childhood. Review: From the very day Adeline Yen Mah was born, her family considered her total bad luck and she was unwanted all her life because her mother died giving birth to her. Adeline struggles for acceptance and overcomes all the odds to prove her worth. She does well at school, even achieving various medallions, strives to attend a university in London and yet her family, especially her father, do not encourage, congratulate or help her in any way, but rather are extremely upset and ashamed of her. As a young child, Adeline considered herself independent and was unable to achieve as much as she wished to due to the fact that she was not receiving enough support, reflecting on her complete and utter loneliness.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

Padme is the mother and she dies right after giving birth to her twins Luke and Leia. Her death does have a role in the book/movie. Towards the beginning of the story her husband, Anakin, has a dream where she’s in labor and she’s dieing, though he doesn’t know why. Throughout the story he tries to figure out a way to save her. Skipping towards the end of the story it’s discovered that Padme dies from being choked by Anakin himself. Because Anakin was so focused on protecting and trying to save Padme he backs out of missions, doesn’t do what he’s told, and eventually kills his teachers, mentors, younglings, etc. and eventually he turns evil because he thought somehow that would save her which of course doesn’t
