Bleeding, is it a miscarriage?

I’m sexually active with my boyfriend of 3 years. I’m on BC pills and have been on them for almost 2 years. Last saturday I missed my pill but took it right away in the morning when I remembered probably around 9 sunday morning and then took sunday night around 9pm. Tuesday, I noticed dark blood spots in my underwear and it continued and got heavier. Yesterday, I was going to the bathroom and noticed stringy like blood clots in the toilet. That night I had sharp pains in my lower stomach.. not really like menstrual cramps more sharp painful pains. Could have been gas pains but not sure. Could this be a miscarriage?? I was not aware of being pregnant but I don’t know how early a miscarriage could occur. Please help!

It could just be because of missing your pill…your hormones would be all out of whack and that could cause you to start an “early” period. You should however go to the doctor because sharp pains and blood clots are not a good combination. Just call them to see what they say…maybe they will have a perfectly normal explanation for you.
