Can bleached hair actually be healthy again even with hot oil treatments and such?

Answer #1

If the ends are “blown out” and the hair is really dead, dry, breaking, limp, etc; I would certainly do regular hot oil treatments for sure. Depending on the damage, a trim would definitely be a good idea if it’s just the ends that are really damaged. You may want to consider going for a shorter hair style, as well though. If I was you, I would go to a salon and see what they could do for the damage and what advice they could give you before it’s too late, trust me. I had hair maybe half an inch past my shoulders and I straightened it at nearly 500 degrees everyday for a few months. Even with heat protection products, I thought I was doing my hair no harm. In about a month, I had to go to the hair salon and I cut my hair just above my shoulders because the damage was so terrible.

Answer #2

Now I get trims at least once a month and straighten my hair once every three days at only 200 degrees (you should never straighten your hair at a higher temperature, my hair dresser told me). I always use damage protection serums and sprays, and I haven’t had a split end once since cutting my hair, and now, it’s growing back faster and healthier than ever. However, depending on your hair type, the bleach might not have damaged it that bad at all.
