Should I go on birth control for my bad periods?

Ok, I am 14, and I want to be on birth control because my periods are so heavy and irregular that I have to get out of all my classes to go to the bathroom whenever I am on them othrerwise I will have blood all over my pants,I already use really thick pads but that isn’t enough…They also make me really sick…but I talked to my mom about this, and she said that she didn’t think this s worth it, but I can’t stand it, and she gets mad because I go through pads so fast, and we have to spend a lot of money, but I can’t help it…Should I go on birth control for this? I’ve heard it would really help… P.S. I’m definitely NOT planning on doing anything consdering the fact that I don’t have a boyfriend and have hardly had my first kiss. So Don’t think that!

Well.

Yes, depending on what state you live on you can get birth control as little as 12 without parental permission.

You have to fill out paper work and it’s impossible for your parents to find out unless you inform them.

Even if they called the planned parenthood center and asked they’d simply say “We cannot tell you that information”

Yes, it would help your periods. And it’s also a good idea to have it just in case you do have sex, It could be unplanned too. =]

That amount of bleeding isnt normal, you could get anemic. Might also be the reason you feel sick… try and hydrate as much as you can… You should definitely talk to a doctor about it… Tell your mother you want a doctor’s opinion on the whole thing…
