Bipolar & Depression!!!

How do I tell my family & friends that I am Bipolar & have a really bad case of Depression?

Answer #1

I am 16. Why do you ask?

Answer #2

How old are you sweetie?

Answer #3

My grandmother took me. Her sister-in-law works there so thats another reason why I got the medication. My parents don’t pay me much attention anyways, thats why I can’t just sit down and tell them.

Answer #4

How did you to the doctor without your parents? Your still a minor? I would think they would have talked to your parents before putting you on medication like that? Most doctor and psychologist would.

Anyways - there is no easy way to tell them if that’s what your looking for. You just have to sit them down and tell them the truth.

Answer #5

Why not - so what if they don’t pay attention to you - corner them and tell them you have something important to talk about and just tell them.

Answer #6

Well… Thats kinda hard if your parents are always drunk. Im afraid if I tell them then they will send me away again. I mean yeah I want them to know, but then again I don’t.

Answer #7

How do you know you do first off all? Have you seen a psychologist and a doctor? Or are you self-diagnosing your self?

If you haven’t seen a doctor - you should tell your parents your concernes and get them to make you an appointment. You can’t just self-diagnose yourself. There’s a lot about bipolarism that you and I dont know - along with depression. You need to see a doctor to find out what is wrong with you - if anything.

Answer #8

Thanks for your advice. I hope luck is on my side, also. :-D :-P

Answer #9

You dont need to be a doctor to diagnose depression or bipolar. I am in 10th grade and I have taken college classes on psychology and I can diagnose depression and bipolarism.

but good luck. I would say just confront them straight forward. I don’t know what else to say. good luck, and may luck be on your side =)

Answer #10

nalydsalguod :

No, you are not a doctor so you can not LEGALLY diagnose someone with a disease. I don’t care what classes you have taken - if you are not a doctor you can NOT diagnose anyone.

Answer #11

Yes I did go to the doctor about it. They doctor told me that I am Bipolar & I am depressed. I have these medications I have to take for Bipolarism. I have to go and see a psychologist every other day about it all. All I need is to know how to tell my parents.
