Bestfriends in love

So I have been bestfriends with this boy for hm, 5 years. We have fought a lot ; and the secret part of the whole thing…is that for the past 5 years we have each had the biggest crush on the other person. I never really realized my feelings for him until just recently when he got another girlfriend because he said he couldnt wait around for me any longer…well I got jealous. and I told him, because we are really honest with eachother. We figured out that we are really protective of one another and he gets jealous when I date other guys too. Oh yes, and we did date about 10 months ago , but apparently I was still crushing on my ex and we broke up. We’ve kissed recently…and I thought it was weird like I always do. The odd thing with me is… I care about him tons and I love hanging with him..its just when we kiss; I find it odd. I know he loves or likes me… probably loves.. bc, he’d told me a lot. We both know that we are those bestfriends that meet up 10 years later, fall in love all over again, and then get married. I really want to date him, but I don’t. I can’t talk to my bestfriend about this because she doesnt like him because well…he’s a bit on the darker side, and she’s bright and bubbly ; to make it quite frank and everyone of my friends thinks he’s “ewww” yeah. well, I can’t talk to them..bc, they will yell at me to stay single for entering into highschool…since I am starting freshman year in like 2 weeks.

what should I do; I need some really decent advice..not just the usual “ Go for it girl , dont listen to your friends” because, have you guys really tried doing that; it never works.. not for me anyway.
