Will people hire some one to look after their kids, if they have never had any experience?
If I had kids myself I would want someone who has experience and is mature and skilled enough to be able to deal with something going wrong eg - knowing how to do first aid. If someone is really desperate for a babysitter then they may hire just anyone.
They will be more likely to hire you even if you have no actual experience BUT do have these special skills: first aid, and CPR for infants and childen.
The YWCA offers a babysitting class for girls ages 12 and older. It teaches babysitting responsibilities, some strategies for handling tough situations, and basic developmental stages from birth to childhood. Also they teach the basic first-aid and cpr for infants and children. If you are lacking experience because you are just starting out these classes will show that you are serious about what you will be doing and that you realize it is a huge responsibility to have someone else”s childs life and safety in your hands.
